KMA Artscapes and UT Arboretum Wildflower Walks

There are two wonderful cultural events in Knoxville over the coming days: KMA Artscapes 2014 and the University of Tennessee Arboretum’s Fall Wildflower Walks.

As a patron of the Knoxville Museum of Art, I am most excited about the upcoming KMA Art Fair September 14-20, 2014. The KMA Art Fair includes an art sale, masked ball, and family activities.

Sunday, September 14th is the Artscapes preview brunch and sale beginning at noon to 3pm. The ball and art auction is September 19th, and this event will begin with a reception and silent auction, with dinner and live auction later in the evening. Painted ceramic plates and bowls by local young artists will also be offered during Artscapes, as part of the “Pottery with a Purpose” project spearheaded by local teachers and museum volunteers. The proceeds of the pottery sales will go toward a kiln and kiln room for students and KMA art teachers.

The Daryl Thetford Cityscape with Bridges Digital Photo Collage is among the auction items available for preview.

There are free family art festivities on September 20th, and over 50 artists will be demonstrating their works during these free festivities.

University of Tennessee Arboretum Fall Waldflower WalksAlso happening this Saturday, September 13th, The University of Tennessee Arboretum (in Oak Ridge) is hosting their highly anticipated Fall Wildflower Walks.

Visit the KMA website for more information on Artscapes. Contact the UT Arboretum for more information on the Wildflower Walks.
