Knoxville Recognized with Award of Excellence in Green Leadership

Knoxville TN EV Stations

In recognition of the city’s efforts to create a cleaner environment for its citizens, Knoxville was recognized with a 2014 Tennessee Municipal League Achievement Award for Excellence in Green Leadership Tuesday morning in Chattanooga at TML’s 75th Annual Conference. Each year the Tennessee Municipal League honors cities throughout the state for overall excellence, improvement, specific out standing programs, or department accomplishments, and this year, Knoxville was one of  the proud recipients of this prestigious award.

This comes just one day after The City of Knoxville reached an agreement with CarCharging Group Inc., the largest owner, operator and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services, for the continued operation and maintenance of 14 of the 24 Blink EV charging stations installed at various City parks and parking areas.

14 of the City’s Blink EV charging stations, located at Caswell Park, Ijams Nature Center, Sequoyah Park, State Street Garage, Victor Ashe Park, West Hills Park and the Jackson Avenue parking lot, will continue being owned and operated by CarCharging Group Inc.
